Budget watchdog: Most GOP hopefuls would increase debt

Acording to an organization that watches the U.S. government's budget, The national debt will increase dramatically with the policies of the leading Republican candidates. The group claims that with taxes and spending plans of Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Mitt Romney that the national debt would increase to over 96% of the nations economy. This is because they each plan to decrease tax rates although the government spending that they propose will not obtain adequate funding. I agree with what they are saying here. These candidates are gaining public support for decreasing the tax rates yet the policies that they are proposing are very near sighted. They are saying what the people want to hear right now in hopes of their votes, but not what needs to be done to fix the problems we as a nation are facing. According to the research done by this organization Ron Paul is the only one that would keep the debt in check. This is due to his cutting of a great deal of Government spending.

Global Development Council

The Global Development Council is a new commission that President Obama has created. This council will draw together nonprofit advocacy groups, charities, colleges and also businesses for the purpose of promoting "global development."  They will begin to advise and support the President in his attempt to help protect national security and further American economic, humanitarian, and strategic interests in the world. Funding for this new council will be provided by USAID.
Personally, I feel as though this is just another unnecessary commission for our financially damaged government. It is my opinion that our government sends an excessive amount of taxpayer dollars overseas. The politics in Washington need to realize that our country has problems that desperately need to be fixed before we use our funds to aid other nations with their problems.
